Refreshing a PHEC Certificate
Once someone has completed the PHEC qualification it should be refreshed every two years to retain currency with skills and updated procedures.
This two day course refreshes first aid skills, presents updated emergency care guidelines and it builds new knowledge on top of what learners have learn from their previous courses.
This course is ultra interactive and our instructors are ready to share their knowledge from working in the outdoors, ambulance and other relevant sectors.
Participation in the course will result in a PHEC Refresher Certificate for unit standard 29321. We can also provide a refresher certificated for the 6400, 6401 and 6402 unit standards for those that have participated in this course.
Has your PHEC expired? Do you hold a Wilderness First Responder Cert?
If your PHEC certificate hasn't been refreshed two years and three months from its date of issue then your PHEC qualification has expired. For most people in this situation we would recommend completion of a new 5-day PHEC course. However for some people it may be appropriate for them to attend a PHEC refresher with Horizons and complete reassessment. This option is for those who are often using their PHEC skills often. We recommend you contact us via email prior to booking to see if this option is appropriate for you.
For those that have an equivalent qualification for example a Wilderness First Responder certificate or are working in the healthcare industry, reassessment may also be appropriate. Contact us to find out if you may be eligible.
If your preferred course is sold out, please email your request through the 'contact us' page and we can look at further options for you.
