Refreshing a PHEC Certificate
Once someone has completed the PHEC qualification it should be refreshed every two years to retain currency with skills and updated procedures.
This two day course refreshes first aid skills, presents updated emergency care guidelines and builds new and current knowledge on top of what learners have learn from their previous courses.
This course is ultra interactive and our instructors are ready to share their knowledge from working in the outdoors, ambulance and other relevant sectors.
Completion results in a PHEC Refresher Certificate - referencing unit standard 29321.
Has your PHEC expired? Do you hold a Wilderness First Responder Cert?
If your PHEC certificate hasn't been refreshed within two years and three months from its date of issue then your PHEC qualification has expired. Most people in this situation should complete a new 5-day PHEC course. However for some people (especially those who have used their skills a lot) it may be appropriate for them to be re-assessed during a PHEC Refresher. We recommend you contact us to see if this option is appropriate for you.
For those that have an equivalent, or overseas, qualification, eg/ a Wilderness First Responder certificate; or who are working in the healthcare industry, reassessment may also be appropriate. Contact us to find out if you may be eligible.

We aim to send out certificates within 2 weeks of completion of the course.
An on-site accommodation option for Christchurch courses is available at a cost of $25 per night per person. Please email to enquire/book at least 7 days before the commencement of the programme.

Your $500 deposit is fully refundable minus a 5% transaction fee, if you withdraw more than 28 days prior to the programme start.
If you withdraw within 28 days of the course start date, we will issue a refund less a $100 administration fee.
If you withdraw within 7 days of course commencement and do not reschedule your place to a later course no refund will be issued.
NZOIA discounts must applied at time of booking (Code available through NZOIA website).
No refund will be given if you withdraw during the programme.
In the unlikely event that we cancel the programme a full refund will be given.
